The Half Marathon will start from the magnificent Carlisle Castle, crossing Castle Way and heading through Carlisle city centre before heading out into the countryside and through the picturesque villages of Cumwhinton, Wetheral and Scotby.

 

On return into the city runners will come through Bitts Park ready for the grand finish on the track in The Sheepmount Athletics Stadium. Preceeding the Half Marathon will once again be the CFM Radio’s Cash for Kids Family Fun Run which will start at 9am at The Sheepmount. Local schools and families will run the Bitts Park route whilst at the same time raising much needed funds for underprivileged children in our area through Cash for Kids. Look out for Courage the Cat taking part this year for the very first time! The Cumberland Building Society Great Cumbrian Run this year has 2 nominated charities: Eden Valley Hospice and, for the first time, the Carlisle and District Sport and Physical Activity Alliance (SPAA).
